  • dimensions: 16” length x 10” height x 8” depth
  • weight (approx): 1.8 lbs
suggestion for care: moss
  • moss requires no care unless it becomes dry and brittle ~ then remove moss and mist, allow to dry before replacing in planter.
african violets
  • african violets thrive in moderate to bright, indirect, indoor light 8 to 12 hours per day (direct sunlight can burn leaves unless it is very early or very late in the day).
  • african violets require at least 8 hours of darkness, each day, in order to bloom.
  • in general, african violets need just enough water to keep the soil moist, but never soggy.
  • keep soil moist to dry, and allow soil around roots to dry out before watering to encourage blooming.
  • use room temperature water, or as close as possible ~ when water is too cold, it chills the plant’s roots.
  • avoid getting water on leaves to avioid spotting damage ~ only exception is spray misting for purposes of quick-feeding or increasing humidity around plant. (misting will not leave behind large water droplets which, when exposed to the sun, will produce brown spots on leaves.)
  • pinch off spent blossoms and blossom stems to encourage development of new blooms.
  • place plant away from floor vents, fans, or entrance doors to avoid air drafts and bursts of cold air.
  • unexpected withering can be indication of crown rot caused by improper watering or drastic temperature changes.
kalanchoes
  • kalanchoes prefer bright, sunny locations, especially in summer ~ in winter, consider a south-facing window.
  • brown spots indicate too much sun.
  • they prefer warmth, do not allow temperature exposure below 55ºf.
  • water moderately thru summer ~ reduce watering in winter.
  • allow soil surface to dry out between waterings ~ in winter, allow plant to almost dry out.
  • remove dead bloom stalks when they become unattractive to encourage continued flowering.
